Love good food and drink? During Sedona Taste on June 13th, it’s all about the not only enjoying great food and beverage, but raising money for a good cause. During the 15th Annual Sedona Taste - money benefits the scholarship fund for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Arizona.

The event takes place at Los Abrigados Resort and Spa in Sedona, and is sponsored by Pink Jeep Tours. The admission fee allows you food, beverage and entertainment by “Outside the Box”. There will also be a silent auction with a wide array of products and services available.

I’m a runner. I run half-marathons, and this is an event that is on my bucket list. Most runners have particular races they’d like to tackle. My challenge is in deciding if I want to do the half marathon, or work up to the full marathon in Sedona. Time will tell for me….what about you?

Sedona Marathon - Feb. 12, 2011 is the date, so mark your calendar if this is an event you’re thinking about running in. They’ll have a full marathon, a half marathon, along with a 5k. They all take place on the same day - just pick your distance and go!

Did you know that a new course record was set this year during the 5th Annual event? Congratulations to Jason Wolfe of Arizona.

If the Sedona Marathon is in your sites - just a quick reminder it’s a high elevation, so keep that in mind when training. Also keep in mind the dry climate if you aren’t used to running in these conditions.

The 20th Annual Zuni Festival of Arts and Culture will take place May 29th and May 30th. This festival celebrates music, dance, crafts, storytelling and more. This is a great way to introduce yourself to the Zuni culture.

If you’d like to learn more, or would like to attend the Zuni Festival - it takes place at the Museum of Northern Arizona which is located on 3101 N. Fort Valley Rd. in Flagstaff

What’s more special than enjoying natural beauty at it’s best? How about doing something unique and enjoying the splendor of Sedona at night with a special Moonlight Hike? This Moonlight Hike takes approximately 2 hours and is an event you don’t want to miss. You’ll enjoy the beauty of a sunset as it gets started, and enjoy strolling under the moonlight on a guided tour.

The hike starts at 6:30 promptly, so be sure to allow time to get there early enough. There is also a small fee involved, and reservations are needed. If you’d like more information about the Moonlight Hikes at Red Rock State Park, contact Karen at 928-282-5963.
